Project Description
The Parks and Recreation Department would like to complete the final phase of the Fransen Nature Center project. Phases I and II
included the creation of a wildflower/prairie grass area,
installation of a rock trail around the park, construction of an
overlook deck at the pond, and the installation of a water
service line to the park.
Phase III will include a small parking area for cars and a bus,
construction of an entry pavilion, and the installation of
educational signage for the natural area.
Anticipated Future Operating Impact
TPhase III will increase the maintenance
requirements with cleaning of the parking lot, trash removal
and pavilion maintenance. Such additional costs are reflected
in the Town’s operating budget.
