Project Description
The Edwin C. Hewett House is the current location of the Ecology Action Center (EAC). The house dates back to the early 1860s.
Much of the exterior of the Hewett House is in need of repair and renewal. Many of the siding boards are deteriorated and in need of replacement, window frames are failing and there are multiple areas where the building is vulnerable to air and moisture infiltration. The paint is also in poor condition and beginning to show signs of widespread failure. Complete restoration of the exterior elements would be the best overall solution. The property has historical designation so all repairs to the exterior need to be made with consideration to the historical significance of the property. The property has been professionally assessed for current conditions, repair recommendation as well as the Architects opinion of probable cost. The details can be found in the attached report.
